The South Bedfordshire Pictorial

The "South Bedfordshire Pictorial" project is dedicated to recording aspects of local life, in particular the town of Luton in the UK.

The results are these limited edition box-sets, (10 of each set), containing 25 photographs, an accompanying brochure, and a lino-print.

Subjects covered in this series include cafe imagery ("Cafe Society"), outdoor urban spaces ("Open Air Theatre"), a vacuum cleaner repair shop ("Home Services"), and a ribbon dyers ("Barford Brothers").

The first edition of the 'SBP' is titled "Open Air Theatre".

It features black and white images of lesser visited, but architectually dramatic spaces surrounding the centre of Luton (see right).

The boxes that form the main component of this inaugural box-set edition are old LP record box-set editions, which have been repainted and covered.

In the case of the "Open Air Theatre" issue, all the materials for it, including the boxes, paint, papers and sleeves have been sourced from within Luton town centre.
