"Linear Work"

In the summer of 2018, along with my cohort for the project Simon Cleary, we aktioned a piece of work via the instructions of Slavakian artist Anushka Marek.

 

Following on from her previous 'linear' works, Simon and I etched a boundary line around Luton's self-designated 'Cultural Quarter'.  

 

This prime town centre location was underlined and ringed with a thick line of chalk, which had been dug out of the surrounding land.

 

The exercise took about an hour and a half, in sweltering conditions, and the line ran for at least a mile.
